L'organizacion politica-administrativa del país subiguèt de grandas modificacions al cors del sègle XX. Primierament a causa de la desintegracion de l'Empèri Austroongrés, pus tard a causa de l'Anschluss e fin finala après los eveniments que seguiguèron a la fin de la Segonda Guèrra Mondiala.
