Notes: Title, date, and keywords provided by the photographer.; At 14,179 feet Shasta it is the second-highest peak in the Cascades and the fifth-highest in California. Often snow- covered (thus called the "White Mountain" by early Indian inhabitants), Shasta seemingly makes an appearance everywhere one drives in Northern California.; Credit line: The Jon B.
