Membres del grop

Lo grop es format per Michael Hutchence († 1997.), J. D. Fortune (2005.), Andrew Farriss, Jon Farriss, Tim Farriss, Kirk Pengilly, Garry Gary Beers.

Sos membres començan lor carrièra en jogant de represas dins de pubs e dels clubs, e ocasionalament dels tròces originals. Pendent vint ans, INXS a coma cantaire Michael Hutchence, desaparegut en 1997, dont la preséncia magnetica sus scèna fach d'el lo ponch central del grop. A l'origina conegut per son estil new wave e pop, lo grop desvolopa un estil pub ròck que compren d'elements de funk e dance.

En 1980, INXS atenh los classaments australians amb son primièr album eponim, puèi encontra la capitada internacionala amb l'album Shabooh Shoobah (1982) e son single The One Thing. Kick, paregut en 1987, es l'album mai conegut del grop.
